Prolific Apex Legends data miner Shrugtal discovered a raft of buffs intended for Rampart in the game's files, indicating Respawn Entertainment has big plans to resuscitate the character's pick rate.

Rampart has never been a central figure in the Apex Legends meta game, but of late her pick rate has dropped all the way down to 1.5%, making her the least played Legend in the game. Respawn buffed her in Season 10, but it doesn't appear those power level increases were enough to bring the Amped Modder into the spotlight.

Rampart buffs for the Amped Cover in the files that didn't make the final cut and are currently not in-game:

Initial building health: 40 -> 120
Upper arm shield extension delay: 0.25 -> 0.10
Front armor deploy duration: 0.5 -> 0.3
Placement delay: 0.5 -> 0.3

Now, Shrugtal has found that Respawn added several potential buffs to the game, but have not pushed them to live servers. The buffs target Rampart's Amped Cover ability, giving it the following improvements:

  • Initial building health increase from 40 to 120
  • Upper arm shield extension delay decreased from 0.25 seconds to 0.10
  • Front armor deploy duration decreased from 0.5 to 0.3
  • Placement delay decreased from 0.5 to 0.3

It's unclear why Respawn held back on these buffs, or if it intend to push them to the live game at all. If these buffs are slated for release, it's likely they'll arrive in Apex Legends Season 13, which is expected to begin in early-to-mid May.
