How to remove bots in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is an important part of setting up custom games to play with friends or to practice grenade setups. Here is how to remove bots in CS:GO.
How to Remove Bots in CS:GO
The first things that players will want to do is to enable the Developer Console. The developer console gives players the ability to open a menu to input various commands.
In order to enable the developer console, click on the options menu (the gear icon) on the main screen when you first open CS:GO. On the top of your screen, you should now see various sub-menus. Click on the Game settings, and in the first section of that menu you should see the option to Enable Developer Console (~). Open the drop down menu next to that option and change it to Yes.
The keybind for the console is defaulted to ~. If you wish to change the button that opens up the console, you can find the option to under Keyboard / Mouse settings.
Now that we have the developer console enabled, press ~ and you should now see a grey menu pop up on your screen.
In the bottom of the console, you have the ability to enter in commands. For our purposes, we want to remove bots from the server. Simply type bot_kick in the command line and press enter.
If you enter in the command correctly, you should see in the bottom left of your screen in the chat that "Player BOT ___ left the game (Kicked by Console)." This means you were successful in removing all the bots from your server.
Keep in mind, this command only works if you have permissions from the server to add/remove bots. If you make a custom game, you should have no problems doing so, but if you join a server browser or are in a matchmaking game, you won't have the ability to control how many bots are on the server.
