The North Lights are a rare weather phenomenon and will occur randomly during the winter season in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Depending on the weather, some players may never see the colorful lights in the sky at all.

Here's everything needed for you to be able to see the Aurora Borealis in ACNH:

1. Weather

Players can only see the Northern Lights if they are in the Winter Season and the weather is completely clear.

There is absolutely no chance to see the Northern Lights if it's raining or snowing.

2. Time

On clear weather nights, players can see the Northern Lights from 6 PM to 4 AM in any time zone.

How to Know When the Northern Lights Will Be Out

Players can make sure to know when the Northern Lights will be out by speaking to their villagers.

While Tom Nook and Isabelle won't tell the player if it will happen, there's a chance that villagers will tell the players that it's perfect weather for the Northern Lights to appear.

If it's perfect weather, the villager should tell the player to check the night sky for Northern Lights.
